Got to see this wonderful spectacle at ooty last week. It was almost 8 in the morning when i got up. This is what that was waiting for me outside the door! I was simply taken away by its breathtaking beauty and clicked till i ran out of memory on my camera!

Hi Freddie,
Great photos! Here in the States we refer to this as "frost." In winter here in Northwest Georgia, we can count on seeing this every morning.
I remember seeing this in Ooty in December and January many years ago too. Ooty is my birth place. Keep taking the great photos.
Best wishes.

Hi Ken!
This is the first time i m seeing such a spectacle in my life! I dint even know what to call it! :D
Thanks a lot for your wishes :)
evocative of happy childhood memories.
We used to leave water in a shallow plate outside that would be solid ice the next morning; we would then hang it out to see it evaporate as the sun rose.
Hoping to make icecream from this natural process, we once left milk on the plate instead of water; to our great disapointment, the next morning the plate was empty! Our cat had had a great, slurpy dinner!!
Thats awesome! will surely try that the next time i visit ooty! hehee :D
the ice cream idea was very funny!! i can imagine that childhood fun and enjoyment!
